PANDAmonium

As FONZ (Friends of the National Zoo) members, we were able to secure early tickets to view the new panda cub, Tai Shan, last weekend. We were allowed in for a ten minute viewing period with no promises as to actually being able to see Tai. We lucked out big time - while we were there the little guy decided to march right past us in his indoor enclosure giving us some close up views. He’s really too cute for words. Doug was able to get a few pictures.

We had more tickets for yesterday but weren’t as lucky this time as Tai was sound asleep in his den away from public view. We did however have a chance to catch up with the four cheetah cubs who were born over the summer. We first saw them when they were a few months old and my how they’ve grown – almost as big as their mom now.
